A great place!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Management and live-in super were always responsive and very helpful. Apartment building is clean and well-maintained. Neighbors were friendly. Great, safe building/area and close to the subways/buses.
Cons:
Apartment on the first floor experienced flooding (only happened twice in the 12 months we lived there), which would cause the water to be shut off in the apartments above. However, it would only be in sections of the apartment that would need to be shut off (ex. Could not use the kitchen sink, but it was okay to use the bathrooms) so it was not super inconvenient/did not affect us much.

Very happy here
Former Tenant
Pros:
The super is amazing. Very responsive to concerns, always warm and friendly. Our stoops and sidewalks are always the first ones cleared after snowstorm. All our neighbors in other buildings wish he was their super, lol. Landlord is prompt in responding to maintenance concerns inside the apartment as well.
Cons:
We feel that our apartment was misrepresented to us in the listing as being much, much bigger than it is (we finally measured it ourselves). And we feel we have been overpaying by quite a bit, which is why we’re going to move—we can get a much bigger, brighter apartment for this price, plus amenities.

Otherwise, we feel lucky that this was our first renting experience in the city. We hear so many horror stories from friends about terrible landlords, grumpy, lazy supers, and building management that just doesn’t respond or take responsibility for their investment. That has not been our experience here.
Advice to owner:
I just have aesthetic advice, and that is to get rid of the hideous beige/brown colors in the lobby. It’s so drab, and makes the building seem dated and lackluster. Paint the doors and banisters black, the wainscoting gray, and the walls white. The building will instantly feel crisp, clean, and modern.
