Beautiful Building, Terrible Landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, and space.
Cons:
Landlord would not properly fix things then billed me for them when I moved out.
Advice to owner:
Treat your Tennants like actual human beings.

Not the best
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, everything but the building itself
Cons:
Everything was old and broken; landlord and team were a pain and often unresponsive; security was nonexistent and probably illegal (keys were stolen to the front door and the locks were never replaced)
Advice to owner:
Sell it please

The WORST renting experience ever
Former Tenant
Pros:
Besides proximity to Central Park there’s no upside to living here.
Cons:
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO RENT HERE.

This was truly the worst rental experience I have ever had in my 8 years of living in NYC. The building manager does not take any responsibility and blames everything on the tenant, or just straight up ignores you. It’s been a month since my lease has ended and I have not received my security deposit back and have not even heard back from management about it. They are basically STEALING your money and this whole rental feels like a scam. (They sneakily changed the lease after we have signed it without informing us)

The building is old and not sufficiently renovated. So that means: the toilet clogs all the time with basic daily use, the basement where you do your laundry is disgusting with dead roaches everywhere, the kitchen has no extractor fan, hot water is on and off and although this did not happen to me, during the year I’ve stayed there, I’ve known at least twice where the neighbors have lost power and did not know who to contact.

I have never lived anywhere with so many problems and contacting management about it often resulted in management saying that I am fraudulent. Which is VERY ironic because they are the ones trying to scam you out of your rent and get out from any responsibility through lies and insults.

Without going into any more frustrating details, I just want to say, DO NOT rent here for your own sanity.
Advice to owner:
Find better people to manage your building. Someone who is at least a decent human being that knows how to take responsibility and be truthful.
