Fairly priced good management old building
Former Tenant

Neighbors are friendly. Very quiet street. Management is responsive to critical repairs other than washer dryer.

Extremely tough management
Former Tenant
Pros:
-historic building in UWS, steps from Central Park -quite neighborhood -friendly neighbors in the building
Cons:
-poor pest control (rats, pigeons) -sketchy homeless in the building premises with no apparent help from management to deal with the situation -rude and dismissive management -laundry appliances in poor condition, close to unusable, and no help from management -poor respect of common areas, eg appliances left in the lobby -poor building security, entrance doors with poor locks and no working security cameras or other controls
Advice to owner:
Get management who actually cares about building's well doing

could be worse
Former Tenant
Pros:
friendly neighbors and super, spacious unit, responsive landlord
Cons:
we had roaches!!! nothing crazy, but still gross. unit was NOT move-in ready when our lease started (they were still painting and “cleaning” when i came over after i got my keys) and it was still quite dirty when we moved in. laundry in basement is fine but you are guaranteed to see a roach or two (or three…) every time you go down there. street outside is pretty dirty and there are rats galore at night.
