Frustrated with management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Overall, the building is nice and the neighbors have been here a long time.
Cons:
Anytime I try to talk to management, though, they are unhelpful.
Advice to owner:
Try and answer your tenant’s questions instead of just passing them off to someone else.

Pests and noise
Former Tenant
Pros:
Kind neighbors, many of whom have been in the building for decades. Spacious apartments. Kind and effective Super.
Cons:
Loud: Lots of street noise from music, stereos, sidewalk gatherings, and cars idling outside building. Chronic pests in apartments and no response from management about them. Ineffective exterminator comes once per month but does not solve the problem. Not secure: Front door and package closet often broken into, locks damaged by being pried open, sometimes left ineffective for weeks. False promises: apartment delivered without all promised amenities/services. Laundry machines dirty and smelling of mold. High turnover: new families don't stay long--1-2 years and gone.
Advice to owner:
Respond to tenants needs and fix problems. Clean laundry machines. Keep doors secure and operational. Take pest infestations seriously--this is a matter of tenant health.

Could be better
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location, clean, large units
Cons:
No noise insulation, extremely loud upstairs neighbors, no help from management about enforcing noise policy or carpet policy
Advice to owner:
Respond to and help resolve problems that tenants present
