Constant Flooding in apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
beautiful apartment and nice neighbors
Cons:
The apartment flooded 8 times in 2 months. Not small floods, 2-3 inches in the bedroom that came in from the sidewalks. Dirty water that came into the room through a running air conditioner. Only 2 times did they assist in cleaning up inches of water. They never repaired any damage. We were awoken in the middle of the night from water, gallons, coming in through the window. I was afraid we would be electrocuted as the water flowed over electrical sockets. I missed work on multiple occasions, barely slept and was consistently uncomfortable in my home. They did not care. We did not pay rent for the months our apartment was almost constantly underwater. They never replaced any of our damaged goods, helped with any cleaning supplies or labor, or dry cleaning. We lost valuable drawings and damaged family heirlooms, things that are precious to us and again, they did nothing to assist. They now are threatening to sue US for the two months unpaid rent. They are unfit to be responsible for peoples living conditions. The amount of stress we went through in this ordeal is ridiculous and they claim no fault. To add to this, we have renters insurance that they asked us to get and insurance did not cover water from the outside.
