I hate this apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Apartment location is fantastic. It’s right around the corner from the 1 train at 86, a 8ish minute walk to the B/C trains near Central Park, right above a grocery and very close to a 24 hour cvs pharmacy
Cons:
Lord. There’s very clearly something living in the walls and I hear it moving everyday, there’s a woman on the first floor that is a singing teacher who holds lessons all day long at various hours of people just belting out Broadway tunes and other such songs (annoying as hell when you come home after working all day stfu), some people have dogs that cry all day long, multiple packages keep getting stolen either by other tenants or from people just buzzing in anyone. The entire building has bad pipes and I’ve heard of multiple people having leaks including our own apartment. Our apartment has absolutely 0 light and there’s no laundry in the building.

Not a safe space
Former Tenant
Pros:
The neighbors are nice. Great neighborhood.
Cons:
The building is filthy. We had no working smoke alarms for a year. The landlord lies repeatedly and illegally enters people's apartments. His brokers are aggressive. They give us NO paper trail so all we can do is leave voicemail after voicemail begging them to fix things. We've had mold for two months due to a leak our super admitted he caused - they won't fix it. We have had broken locks so homeless have sadly come to reside in the lobby at tjmes.
Advice to owner:
Be kinder to your tenants.

Units are okay, management sucks
Former Tenant
Pros:
Relatively inexpensive pre-COVID.
Cons:
Too expensive for what you're getting, awful management, extremely old appliances, can't control the heat
Advice to owner:
Level of service needs to improve if rent is going to continue to go up.

Please Stay Away
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location...I loved everything surrounding the building in regards to restaurants, shops, and transportation!
Cons:
The management of this building was so unprofessional and unhelpful. It would take months to get something fixed. They almost never answered their phones (the only way to reach them). I rarely contacted them but when I did I knew to approach them nicely. That didn’t matter...They were just all around rude, overpriced, and would put blame on the tenant/get defensive with simple inquiries or major issues that could not wait. I want to save others from the misery of this management company. They manage several building. Try your best to stay away! Not worth your sanity or money. Westside Management...just google them. I wish I did before renting with them.
Advice to owner:
Hire new management.
