Decent place to live
Former Tenant
Pros:
We moved into a newly renovated apartment with great new appliances. The super is responsive to problems and addresses them quickly.
Cons:
We did have a few roaches in our apartment from the shower, and the radiators are loud in the winter.

Modern apartments in a dated building
Former Tenant
Pros:
The units are entirely redesigned
Cons:
Only 1 elevator so you end up waiting for a long time. The scaffolding have been here for over a year at this point. It can be noisy as the building is on the avenue.

Great location, nice river views, laundry in building, responsive live-in super

Lots of construction in the building, half started projects that go unfinished for months, huge monthly rent increases

Be more responsive and communicate better with tenants

Nice and normal New York apartment building 2018
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nicest super. He would personally take everybody's trash from their apartment door for them. Responsive management. Our apartment was pest-free, although I believe some units had some bugs. Hallway and lobby were clean. Two locking front doors. We had a package thief, but it was probably a resident. Very quiet building. Great location. Not a luxury building, not a dump. Moved away for personal reasons.
Cons:
There were some roaches in the building, not our apartment. Not sure about the severity. Services were being offered regularly by management to deal with the problem. Basement (laundry room) is dirty/cluttered and there were cats that were allowed to roam around down there. I didn't mind (cute cats were a plus actually) but some people might find it unappealing. This was years ago - around 2018.
