Super modern apartment with some cons management never mentioned
Former Tenant
Pros:
The sweetest, most attentive super. Very well-maintained building with beautifully renovated apartments. In the mornings I could hear the Today Show concerts! Loved the heated bathroom floors. Building manager could be hard to get a hold of but was helpful when I did. I liked being close to the action, but it’s very crowded around the holidays. Remote AC/Heaters are fabulous, albeit expensive for your electricity bill.
Cons:
Building directly adjacent was being torn down and no one told me until long after I moved in. Construction workers left trash and I got two cockroaches in a month (had never been a problem before). The construction literally shakes the entire building and is unbearable. Owner is a stickler about rules. Also, a psychic lives on the third floor with a giant family. Lots screaming and yelling in the middle of the night. Building owner and management will not admit that the psychic is even there when I’ve complained, they just ignored my emails. Probably there illegally because they definitely are not able to afford this apartment off of just palm readings. Also had a problem where packages were getting stolen and building did nothing. Starbucks leaves their trash right in front of the building, attracting vermin. Starbucks also has a door into the building which is a security issue.
Advice to owner:
Address tenants’ security concerns, don’t withhold information about construction.
