The management company is not good
Former Tenant
Pros:
The other tenants in the category are very friendly! Great building location with respect to trains, access to cars, etc.
Cons:
I don’t drive but no parking near the building, the building is poorly maintained (I practically had to beg them to send the exterminator in bc I was having pest problems over the summer); they just generally seem like they don’t care about their tenants at all. But I will say, my unit is nice, I think that’s because the tenant before me took good care of it…
Advice to owner:
Get a better management company where people know how to treat other people and aren’t rude (which I think is the bare minimum …)

Not the worst place to live, but not good.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Wide array of apartment sizes, cost, etc. Building manager, Dan, is a nice guy. Small building. Centrally located to most necessities, though subway is a bit of a hike. Easy access to East River Walk.
Cons:
Dirty…common spaces are dingey and not well maintained. A lot of loiterers in the area - constantly people smoking on the front stoop who don’t live there. A lot of random problems with the locks needing to be changed, getting jammed, etc. Apartments are not well-maintained by owners. Would randomly hear huge shards of glass falling onto the outdoor spaces of the apartments who had them - would look out and see the giant pieces of glass shattered everywhere. Roaches. Building owner is not responsive to major issues, and then give tenants a hard time when they do reply.
Advice to owner:
Close down the building, gut the whole thing, start over…it’s in dire need of repair and refurbishment.
