Beware the hoarder in Apt 1
Former Tenant
Pros:
- super is very responsive over text - heat and hot water are very hot - good water pressure - most neighbours are friendly
Cons:
- hoarder in apt 1 is very old and steals packages constantly - rats run in and out of his apartment next to front door - he keeps a fish tank on the front stoop which is cruel to the animals and litters trash in the tree in the front - bad roach issues
Advice to owner:
kick the man in apt 1 out for health and safety concerns

Horrible management
Former Tenant
Pros:

HORRIBLE management. Getting a response/anything resolved was near impossible. Rotating door of supers who ranged from semi helpful to fully inappropriate.
Advice to owner:
Put more effort in.

Okay living here
Former Tenant
Pros:
The rent is stable. Allowed to have pets. Near lots of restaurants.
Cons:
Super is lazy. Building smells. Mail gets stolen. No cameras. Mice’s and roaches.
Advice to owner:
Get a better super. Don’t own property if you don’t know what your doing and give tenants a better living situation in a nice neighborhood.

Beware of Neighboors & Super
Former Tenant
Pros:
The space for what you pay is good for Manhattan.
Cons:
The building is old and smells awful.
The super is very unresponsive and will constantly say he is coming to fix something yet never show up. He is hours late to fix issues when he does come.
Biggest issue is the neighbors. The building is very unsafe due to tenants who partake in illegal activity. People coming and going at all hours visiting one apartment. Police have been involved on more than one occasion.
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive to tenants and take complaints regarding. Neighbors seriously.
Get a new super.

If you want free pets…
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very quiet and low electricity bill.
Cons:
Mice in apartment. My roommates and I caught over 20 mice and who knows how many more there were. Management refused to help (only sent in super and not an EXTERMINATOR to try to fix the situation. Would not suggest this building to my worst enemy.
Advice to owner:
Hire real exterminators and listen to your tenants when they say there are mice in their beds.

Gross Building in Good Location
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location, generally quiet.
Cons:
The building is dirty, multiple roach and mice sightings in the apartment and stairwell, landlord/super will say they’ll fix things but you have to hound them in order for them to actually do anything, garbage will pile up and sit there for days, peeling paint and cracks in the walls all over the apartment and building, heating isn’t consistent, homeless people have broken in and slept in the main hallway.
Advice to owner:
Get a new property manager and renovate the entire building.

Pests and more pests
Former Tenant
Pros:
The location and the super are nice
Cons:
The pests (mice, roaches, ants, flies), the creepy man on the first floor, the repairs never getting fixed, the rent pricing increasing even in covid
Advice to owner:
Get better exterminator and not someone who just puts out two traps out of a backpack

Beware - terrible building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location & Price
Cons:
Worse living experience ever. Yes the location is great but you get what you pay for. The apartment was constantly over 80 degrees, we had 3 separate flooding/ceiling water incidents, a crazy bad bug problem, and multiple mice sightings in the apartment. The management was very unresponsive and rude. When we moved out they tried to with hold out security deposit because of unpaid rent (not true) and when we confronted them they said it was glitch and sent the money back but still super shady they tried to pull that to begin with...
Advice to owner:
Upkeep the building better and be less condescending
