Perfectly nice place to live
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good apartment layout, quiet building/neighbors, good size kitchen & bathroom, super is nice and easy to get in touch with
Cons:
The pipes bang super loud when the heat comes on, often in the middle of the night. Walk-up with a narrow staircase so it’s hard to get furniture up, and the storefront on the first floor has access to the residential part of the building. Can be hard to get in touch with the landlord.

Avoid at all costs
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location. Close to 6 and Q trains.
Cons:
Filthy, no repairs, unsafe. The super Charles is a liar and menace. Any real estate agent that takes you here—especially Michael Dean/callmikenyc.com/Roseann Lettieri Realty— is a con artist. John Brandvold is a slumlord; lowest of the low. The walls are full of mold. The only tenants who stay are long-termers on rent-controlled leases of $400 per month. At one point the building was overrun with rodents because the super just dumped the refuse on the floor in the basement for weeks. Run away from this building and these old-school NY scheisters as fast as you can.
Advice to owner:
Clean up your act

First time renter
Former Tenant
Pros:
Bathroom redone, video intercom
Cons:
Packages stolen, hallways old/broken down, a/c never fixed
Advice to owner:
Good for first time/young renter
