Systemic management failure
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is fine. It is the management company that is completely unacceptable.

They are the same management company for
160 East 84th
125 East 87th
1700 York Ave
4 Park Ave
444 East 82nd St
134 East 32nd
Cons:
We were warned on this site about the management company and we were told it was one bad super that was replaced. Unfortunately it is one poor management company that you can’t change.

As I said if you are considering renting at
445 East 80th
160 East 84th
125 East 87th
1700 York Ave
4 Park Ave
444 East 82nd St
134 East 32nd

Normally I would have put it down to a single bad employee - we all have those. But the persistence of these issues suggests it is a systemic failure of management and since I was warned and didn’t heed the warning I want others to learn from my poor decision to rent here.

We have tried repeatedly to them about an issue with the payment of our rent and received one cryptic response that appeared to be an auto generated email response - at best. When we called reception she refused to connect us with the billing supervisor or give us his/her number to call them back. When I asked for her name she refused to spell it and then hung up. I have never been treated my so rudely. As I said this type of behavior reflects badly on management.
Advice to owner:
Your company has a systemic issue. If you want to know how to run a rental company I highly recommend Related Rentals as a high quality rental landlord.

Great staff, terrible management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great neighbors, friendly staff.
Cons:
All repairs are done as cheap as possible. AIR CONDITIONING IS TERRIBLE. Replaced elevators 8 years ago, they never work. One of them seems to be out of service at least once a week.
Advice to owner:
Stop nickel and dimeing residents every time you make a repair due to problems caused by your lack of preventative maintenance.
