Could Use Some Updates
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very responsive super. Laundry in building with elevator. Overall friendly neighbors.
Cons:
There is definitely a roach problem. There is a monthly pest guy who comes, but if your neighbor doesn’t let him in, you’re kinda screwed. Also the walls and floors are thin. You can hear everything.
Advice to owner:
It’s nyc, a roach once in awhile isn’t the end of the world, but when it’s every day, that’s not a good sign. You can also find them in the hallways. Dealing with noisy neighbors and complaints - there needs to be some sort of action if they don’t oblige. Lastly, updating to electronic payment for rent.

Pros:
Good space for the price. Extremely safe building and area. Everyone is very kind and friendly. Elevator available so don’t need to rely on the stairs. Superintendent is friendly. Laundry in building (which has been recently updated).
Cons:
Walls are thin so you can hear the people next door pretty easily. Definitely cannot have any parties or loud music, you will get a noise complaint. Need to mail rent monthly, no online system. Sometimes you have to catch the superintendent in person to get something fixed, you can write on the notepad outside her apartment but I don’t feel like it always gets read. May just be for my apartment but lighting isn’t great and the 1-bedrooms are pretty small. The whole apartments could use renovations/updates too.
Advice to owner:
Would be great to update to an online system for rent or any issues with the apartment that could go to landlord or superintendent. Apartments could use updating.
