How does management respond to safety of the terrible elevator?

They don’t. It’s been broken since before Christmas, I had to carry my luggage up and down 5 floors. I’ve witnessed an extremely elderly tenant struggling to get upstairs, step by step, using her hands on the ground at some points (I took her groceries to her floor for her). Others are chronically ill or have people living with them who rely on the elevator. I spoke to a woman in the laundry room who said her mother-in-law hasn’t been out in 3 months because she can’t use the stairs. MGMT will just say “it’s in the works” and if you try to complain, ask for a rent reduction or any updates, they say you signed a rider with your lease acknowledging the elevator is being upgraded—huge scam to get away with marketing this as an elevator building.

They don’t care at all. The elevator is down every other day and I have had the elevator open up in between floors. The elevator has been down for a month now and there are no updates to tenants about the situation.
