Pest and horrible management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Laundry in unit
Cons:
Roaches management never did anything. Leak in apartment management took hours to fix. Dead rat outside of door. Packages frequently stolen.

Good building, mice issues
Former Tenant

Live in super. Good area, everything is close by.
Cons:
Mice problem, drainage problems
Advice to owner:
Building needs better pest control

Great area but bad building management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Apartment was very nicely renovated, great lighting, washer/dryer. Area and building was super safe, lovely park nearby
Cons:
Rats in the building, management was not responsive and did not do anything much to help. Hard to get hold of the super.
Advice to owner:
Pests in the building is a big problem please address it

A rollercoaster I’d say
Former Tenant

Great area, rent is not bad, cute pre war interior, renovated and modern w washer and dryer in unit
Cons:

Heat and hot water issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice enough building, fairly clean
Cons:
Heat and hot water regularly broken, super/management hard to contact and they don’t follow-up. Renovation contractors are awful, working at all hours, spreading debris and plaster all over the building.

Former management was really bad
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great kitchen and apt size/layout. Nice location close to Carl Shurz park
Cons:
Mautner Glick was really bad management, but I believe they’ve gone out of business. Old building, and the walls have definitely been painted over a ton of times, unless they’ve done recent renos (possible!)

Great building, worst management imaginable
Former Tenant
Pros:
The location is great and the light is stunning in the upper units. Neighbors are friendly.
Cons:
Brighton bought this building after my first year here and it has been an unimaginable nightmare. Consistently no heat, no hot water, and several of the apartments are under construction. The contractors have ruined the building, created tons of dust, and are here at all hours of the day and night including weekends. The super keeps changing, management doesn't have a valid phone number half the time. The noise from the construction is so loud and the lack of hot water are literally making me feel crazy. If you see Brighton anywhere near your lease- run in the other direction.
Advice to owner:
Find a different profession idk if this is for you.

Horrible Management /
Former Tenant
Pros:
The area is great.
Cons:
I read the other reviews, and we’re all on the same page. Management doesn’t respond, Super is awful. They really don’t care. Things broken, dirty, rodents to name a few. If you take a tour, don’t trust broker, ask a current tenant instead. It’s a shame because the neighbors are decent, and the place is in such a great area.
Advice to owner:
Please just do the basics for your tenants. Shame on all of you.

Nice quiet home
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet place to live
Cons:
Management could be more responsive

Pest problem and construction
Former Tenant
Pros:
Newly renovated apartments and entryway
Cons:
Some apartments have a pest problem and the owners are slow to respond and take action. Meanwhile their tenants are living with rodents coming into their home due to rushed and poorly done construction during renovations.
Advice to owner:
Respond in a timely and actionable manner for your tenants. Do NOT let a rodent problem persist. ALWAYS inspect final construction.

Don’t Rent Here!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Neighborhood is nice, neighbors in building are nice
Cons:
When I moved into this building the broker lied and said the unit I rented was the only vacant apartment in the building. A month later they started a MASSIVE gut renovation of probably about 12 (maybe more apartments) and all of the common area. Renovations have been going on for five months with numerous workers coming and going all week long. The workers do not always wear masks (we’re still in a pandemic). The building is filthy due to the renovations. The buzzer/intercom system has not worked for 5 months. The super is often unresponsive. We’ve had no hot water on many occasions, and sometimes, no water at all! We’ve also gone without heat on some of the coldest winter days. The management company never responds to emails.

Just ...don’t.
Advice to owner:
Be more considerate of the tenants who reside in this building.
