Crazy Landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location and virtual doorman are good. Neighbors keep to themselves but are otherwise friendly and happy to help. Laundry in basement is OK, Hercules runs it and sets the rate.
Cons:
Mice and cockroaches are a major pain. Usually alternate annually which one you get. Def can hear squeaking on the walls. Once saw the exterior wall lined with cockroaches.

Interior finishes are suspicious. They just slapped some vinyl stickers here and there. Ripped up a bunch of tiles and corridor baseboards and left it exposed. What's the rent increase paying for??

Management company is all about money and don't hesitate to raise rents like crazy. They don't care if you are a good tenant. Very disorganized. They thought my studio was a 1bedroom, and charged me the same amount as my neighbor upstairs who had a real 1 bedroom. Everyone is so combative on the phone, you'd think they have a toxic work environment there!
Advice to owner:
This needs a fumigation. Also, super is highly unreliable.

Very dirty, lots of pests
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location, apartment interiors are nice, nice rooftop access
Cons:
So. Many. Cockroaches. I’m sure I killed hundreds while I lived there, and there were always dead ones in the hallway. Building also had rats. Public areas were never clean, intercom system sucked, and the heat was nonexistent. Our thermometer measured temps under 60 several times in the winter and there was frost on the windows.
Advice to owner:
Clean this building regularly!!!
