Doable in a Pinch
Former Tenant
Pros:
High ceilings, month-to-month lease, big windows, price (I guess), live-in super. A lot of the details in the building are original, albeit painted over. Location. Furnished. If you're desperate, it's a place you can live for a little while.
Cons:
There were roaches when I moved in--seems to be an infestation in the building itself. Cameras everywhere, restrictive lease terms (no visitors, not allowed to have AC), lack of upkeep in shared bathrooms. Can't really receive mail. West-facing windows so it gets very hot. The super can't really see, and is less than welcoming. Inconsistent lease paperwork.
Advice to owner:
Catch up on the deferred maintenance, call pest control, be realistic about the market for these kinds of units.
