Ok building, tough street to live on
Former Tenant
Pros:
Living in an inside facing apartment, it was quiet as a mouse at night! I had wonderful nights of sleep here.
Cons:
No doorman and front door lock often busted. We had a lot of strangers wander into the building off 125th St. Felt very unsafe

Gentrified Harlem Apt
Former Tenant
Pros:
Renovated apartment with new appliances Great maintenance when they show up Laundry in unit
Cons:
KSR realty bought a lot of apartments uptown to rent to young professionals looking for affordable Manhattan apartments, but are not ready to provide professional service to tenants. It is nearly impossible to get ahold of the super. The building also has non working cameras and I was unable to get footage of stolen items in the lobby due to non working cameras. They weren’t even plugged in. Lazy slumlords
Advice to owner:
Do better

Great Building, Consistent Heat Issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
-neighbors are pretty great! -location of the building is perfect. It’s close to the 2/3 and 4/5/6 trains, close to the Harlem 125 MetroNorth Stop and close to many restaurants, bars and grocery stores -friendly maintenance crew -responsive and kind landlord
Cons:
-consistently the main complaint I have about this building is the heat. Some of the new units have centralized heat and air but the older units still rely on steam heat and cannot be replaced until older residents move out. This makes for challenging cold months where heat might not come on for weeks at a time, or comes on sporadically, or is on constantly so that the apartment becomes roiling. -not an issue for me, but only accessible by staircase. Would not be a good building for those with disabilities or other health concerns as there is no elevator.
Advice to owner:
If there is a way to have someone check on the boiler regularly or check in with the longer term residents regularly when the weather gets cold I would recommend it. It makes it look like you care and are being proactive about the heat. The maintenance portal folks have been super helpful but not particularly good at follow up.
