Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews for 1838 Adam Clayton Powell Jr Boulevard in Manhattan, NY 10026 showcase mixed experiences. Tenants appreciate the well-maintained building, new appliances, and landlord responsiveness. However, issues with water heating, neighborhood safety, and poor management have been highlighted. Particularly, complaints about no heat, thin walls, and a problematic landlord stand out. Suggestions include addressing safety concerns, improving heating systems, and addressing unethical landlord practices. Despite some positives, such as the location near Central Park, significant improvements are needed in management and building conditions for a more satisfactory living experience.

Overall Good experience

Pros

Well maintained building with a nice video intercom. New appliances throughout the units and great responsiveness with the landlord when dealing with any issues.

Cons

Everyone in the building had been experiencing hot water issues. I took too many cold showers to keep track of. And, even after myself and my neighbors submitted requests to resolve the issue, options were offered that only involved the management not spending money on a second water heater for the building. We did have to put up a good fight but finally got it fixed.
