Some great renovated apartments
Former Tenant
Pros:
Some units are renovated and very nice. Very tall ceilings and great light. Neighbors often nice and kind.
Cons:
Management isn’t always very responsive so have to call a few times if need them. Some people leave trash outside of trash room so it smells but cannot smell it in apartments.

cheap living near columbia's campus
Former Tenant
Pros:
decent sized bedrooms with fairly new kitchen and bathroom and with laundry and dishwasher in unit
Cons:
very unresponsive landlord. no major maintenance issues but when we did have an issue it would often be ignored. for example 2 bedrooms did not have window screens and the landlord ignored several requests to have them put in , finally they claimed that they were not required
Advice to owner:
respond to requests!

Old Building, Roaches, Loud Street Side
Former Tenant
Pros:
The management company is quick to respond and help schedule maintenance when you ask
Cons:
Roachesssss; pest control came through often but the building is infested so they were all over the kitchen.
The pipes in the building are very old so we had quite a few piping draining issues that would require maintenance guys to be in n out all day on those days. Happened 3 times for me during my year lease. Plus since it was piping issues they'd drag in and out dirty wet footprints - so gross.
If you're on the East facing side of the building, Amsterdam is a POPPIN street like at all hours of the day, loud music, loud people - I got used to t but it took some time.
Floor heaters, no radiators - very very weak strength, ran up my electric bill leaving them on all night in the winter and barely made a dent in keeping the room a comfortable temperature.
