Great renovations that hide the crust below
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building was cheap. Renovated backsplash, tile, stainless steel appliances. Overall mostly student population or elderly folk.
Cons:
Rats infest streets from 108th - 113th, due to street conditions and outdoor trash. Building started leaking in the lobby and owner management was very poor - tried to hold our security deposit hostage.
Advice to owner:
Need to wake up and realize that property management means you run a business, and thus are accountable to the people paying you thousands of dollars a month in rent. Simple repairs, keeping building operational, etc and communication are a prerequisite.

Neglect
Former Tenant
Pros:
The ability to control the heat via thermostat was great.
Cons:
Inconsistent pest control measures, lack of due diligence with regards to repairs and maintenance. Noisy neighbors.
Advice to owner:
Preventative maintenance instead of reacting to disasters would improve living conditions.
