The most disgusting building I’ve ever live in
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good neighborhood. Literally nothing else.
Cons:
Right off the bat, we were told heat and hot water was included in our rent but come winter we started getting charged for heat. Management said (despite our lease) we were responsible for heat.

From the day we moved in we had pest problems. Rats scurrying in the walls, dozens of flies, spiders, and ROACHES. The entire apartment is infested with German roaches. We also had mold that was ignored by management.

It took several months for management to take any of our concerns seriously and when they finally replied to us they refused to take responsibility for the issues and would not help us. We moved in at the end of April and I ended up leaving the apartment in December to stay with my family because the apartment was uninhabitable.

The landlord offered to let us break the lease at that point but were unwilling to return our security deposit so we said no. Then a couple weeks later the Department of Buildings responded to a complaint we filed and after surveying the apartment the determined it was “perilous to life” and we were told to vacate the apartment. The landlord is letting us break the lease and is returning our deposit.

NO ONE SHOULD LIVE HERE.
Advice to owner:
Take the health and safety of your tenants seriously.

Awful management company
Former Tenant
Pros:
Honestly, I can't think of any. Our dishwasher worked?
Cons:
-Unit had consistent cockroach and mouse problem, which management ignored
-After they refused to help, a mouse eventually got into the inner fan of our fridge and left its poop there, spreading the poop across the whole fridge. Management didn't replace our fridge for months, only replacing after we threatened legal action
-Management would raise their voices and hang up the phone when we mentioned issues
-They tried to claim they never received our security deposit, trying to scam us into paying it again (we luckily had proof it had gone through)
-Our in-unit washer/dryer never once worked and never once was replaced by management despite repeated inquires
-The bathroom had consistent black mold problems
-One time a 311 inspector came to observe the pest issues; after noting that it was indeed a problem, he said "this landlord is whack", he'd had to deal with them so many times

Ok Apartment. Would not rent again.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Garbage maintenance was good. Quiet neighbors. Mostly students. Location was good.
Cons:
Mostly students who don’t clean up after themselves which led to bugs/roaches. Their apartments were filthy with dirty floors. Maintenance takes a while to come fix a problem.
Advice to owner:
Improve maintenance staff. Should do mandatory pest control for everyone.
