worst apt experience, got scammed into this place by the broker
Former Tenant
Pros:
neighbors are great, quiet building overall. quick access to the 1 train. walkable area.
Cons:
pests and garbage- there are always rats downstairs, in the building walls (not in the apartment, but still) and rat feces in the laundry room, making it hard to comfortably wash your clothes down there as you tip toe around the gunk. the garbage is also an issue in front of the building that leads to more and more rats. the building itself smells like rats in the hallways, thankfully not in the apartment.
Advice to owner:
lower the rent if the building is not going to be in good condition when it comes to cleanliness. live-in manager would be great to supervise the building and maintenance.

Worst Apt On the Block
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet… that’s about it.
Cons:
Huge rodent problem by the garbage and they have also been located in the laundry room. Despite multiple complaints and citations, management has not addressed this at all.
Poor lighting on first floor made the apt very dark during the day.
Laundry room dryers never work and is filthy down there.
The apartment did not come cleaned at all and has a roach problem as well
Advice to owner:
Fix the rodent and roach problem! Keep the building clean and make sure the laundry room appliances work!

Do Not Recommend
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is convenient with stores, bars, restaurants, and a subway stop nearby. Neighbors are nice.
Cons:
Rats are out of control, both outside because of poor trash management, and inside (even living in the walls of the building). All complaints have to be routed through management because there is no super on-site, so good luck if an emergency happens after business hours. Building is not clean (it even smells terrible when you walk inside) and pests and rodents are running rampant inside apartments despite every noble attempt to keep them out. 311 reports have been filed but very little is actually done to address the issue. I don’t recommend the headache that comes with living here.

Great place until there's a problem
Former Tenant
Pros:
Because of the 1 story building next door the light in the apartments is bright, the layout is decently spacious for a 1-2 bedroom in the area, the water pressure was excellent but actually too high pressure sometimes, don't follow through with late fees usually, nice neighbors, great neighborhood
Cons:
the water temperature flashes scalding hot a lot, management company is absolutely horrible-- when I called about smelling gas, they refused to have it checked out and told me to check the pilot light on my stove and then mockingly asked if I knew how to check the pilot light when I insisted it was fine. I called coned's emergency line and we had a gas leak. It could have been serious and the way mgmt handled it was illegal. they will also often not answer when you call if you are trying to get in touch with them about anything important. they avoid telling you who the super of the building is in order to avoid accountability. nothing will get fixed if you need it to be fixed.
Advice to owner:
Your management company is so bad, they're actually neglecting and endangering their tenants. When the ceiling of my neighbor's apt fell through because of a maintenance issue, they found a plunger inside the ceiling. How does that even happen. The building is not being maintained.

BED BUGS horrible
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nothing. Terrible. Stay away.
Cons:
STAY AWAY. BEDBUGS! Neglectful landlord, completely unreachable. So dirty. Many housing violations that they dont do anything about. Horrible, horrible experience. Overpriced, check out the building next door they’re similar in price but so much better.
