Former Tenant
Pros:
Super is attentive and helpful

Elevator frequently out of service, so laundry is hard to get to
Advice to owner:
Bring in a proper exterminator that actually does the job

Alright building, good for Columbia students
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice exterior, modern appliances, in-building laundry, relatively big studio, walls are thick, great location (Columbia, 1 train, grocery stores, Riverside Park, restaurants on Amsterdam), super is very responsive and helpful
Cons:
The elevator breaks down constantly, often for several days at a time. I live on an upper floor and having to haul groceries and luggage up that many flights of stairs isn’t fun. Elevator is the only way to get down to the basement, so be prepared to have no access to laundry or recycling for long stretches. Packages get stolen frequently.
Advice to owner:
Please replace this elevator. It’s unacceptable.

Pros:
Location is incredible. Room sizes and light is good on upper floors. Lots of windows.
Cons:
Laundry room is inadequate and overpriced. Cockroaches. Infestations. Atrocious elevator. Cold super and security.
Advice to owner:
New elevator. Take the management more seriously and bring things into the 21st century.

Lovely neighborhood and super
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is amazing, big apartments. Super is great.

No package system- it’s pandemonium. Elevator is antiquated and breaks down. Roaches but they have exterminator visit regularly
Advice to owner:
Upgrade the elevator please, find a better way to manage packages so they don’t get lost or stolen.

DANGEROUS BUILDING
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice super, pretty apartment, good garbage management...but NOT WORTH living here because of safety problems.
Cons:
Incredibly horrifying stalking/harassment situation in the building. Mentally ill tenant who attempted to break into MULTIPLE units and has stalked and harassed tens of women in the building. Illegal air bnb rentals in the building with loud and mentally ill newcomers—-COMPLETE lack of care or responsibility by management company, police in area refuse to help despite being called to the building nearly every day. Terrible building with at least 6 people breaking their lease within the month because of the severity of the stalking problem and break-ins. DO NOT RENT IN THIS BUILDING. You won’t receive your security deposit and your safety will be compromised.
Advice to owner:
take care of your tenants! EVICT UNSAFE /DANGEROUS and ILLEGAL OCCUPANTS.

Cons:

No response from management

DON'T LIVE HERE
Former Tenant
Pros:
super is nice, building is generally clean, location is great for columbia students, nice units
Cons:
MANAGEMENT SUCKS, theres a squatter who has been here for months and management has been contacted MULTIPLE times and done nothing. They also signed an eviction notice for him yet refuse to acknowledge that they know about him when the squatter threatens the tenants again. Also usually the victims of his actions are young women in the building. So many people have already moved out and broken their leases everyone just seems to be waiting until they are personally threatened to leave. Currently trying to figure out how to get out before our lease is up
Advice to owner:
GET NEW MANAGEMENT

tenant for 3 years
Former Tenant
Pros:
I was on the first floor so it was convenient moving in. The super was very nice and responsive. location is nice you’re close to so many parks and train stop around the corner.
Cons:
The management however was very hard to get ahold of and would be slow to respond to our emails. There were a few issues with heat and the entire building did not have heat for days during the winter.
Advice to owner:
Have a more responsive team to resolve issues quicker.

DONT LIVE HERE
Former Tenant
Pros:
The units are huge for the pricing but don’t be fooled. This building has a ton of complaints on DOB.
Cons:
The super and landlord are non existent. The was a gas leak a few years back and they never turned the gas back on. The landlord is terrible and will ghost you if you complain. On DOB they have a ton of complaints. There’s roaches everywhere and it’s just the worst place of you get stressed really easily.they also won’t return you security deposit after you move out. I took them to small claims court and they decided to mail it back to me the week of my court date, almost a full year after I moved out!
Advice to owner:
None they won’t care to read this.

Worst management, good super
Former Tenant
Pros:
Part time doorman is nice, super is very responsive, cleanliness is okay. Laundry room is relatively new so no capacity issues. Units are decently large for the price
Cons:
Landlord is non existent, literally. If you email you won’t get a response, if you call, a nasty person answers the phone and is not helpful. There is a squatter who took over an AirBnB that pisses out his window, poops on the fire escape, and stalks/harasses other tenants. The building and local police have done nothing and it’s disgraceful.
The building also is easily broken into, with packages stolen on a WEEKLY basis. Be careful! Lots of theft in this building as well as surrounding neighborhood. I would recommend not living here unless you have no other option.
Advice to owner:
The building needs new management, the current ones are destroying the building value. Also, make the building safer to enter to deter thieves.

Terrible maintenance
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location for Columbia University students
Cons:
Elevator never works, laundry area was broken for ages. Disgustingly dirty. Cockroaches
Advice to owner:
You haven’t invested a dollar in 10 years into the common areas
