Just fine. Plenty of flaws.
Pros
For all of its flaws, it is close to the train, its in a cute neighborhood that is usually quiet. Its decently spacious. The laundry room is easy to use and just downstairs.
Cons
They really got lazy with the work done. Painting over glass, outlets not working in certain areas of the house, The apartment has holes and screws and cracks. The lobby is tiny and leaves no room for boxes, I've had some mail disappear that I wasn't happy about. I'm also running into some large roaches and centipedes. Landlord isn't helpful.
Advice to the owners
Listed by issues. I don't wish to speak to the landlord.
Terrible landlord / Stolen packages/ Weird wires
Pros
-The super is great! Responsive and helpful -The laundry room is a plus in this neighborhood! -The building is pretty good with noise, footsteps but not voices or tv noises -Very cute old NY building charm, which to not for everyone. This does come with a handful of leniency. Things you have to know about old buildings going in but the charm is still present on the doors and floors. -Dog friendly neighborhood and building
Cons
-Most important, the landlord is terrible to deal with. I never want to speak to landlord if I don't absolutely have to but this guy doesn't answer emails mostly calls so he doesn't have to be accountable, terribly rude, does not care about your well being. Very hard to deal with. -Packages get stolen. Period. People in the area know that can steal so they do. Its not every time but I had many packages stolen. I went to the store, came back and its gone. So I saw it there and it disappeared within an hour. -Part of the building that we were in had no lighting, faces other buildings but this was a choice we made. Rent kept increasing which didn't make this feel worth it. -No working cameras. -Pest control in the past would buzz into the apartments, we were told at the showing that they come once a month. Now he only comes to spray the lobby and laundry room. -Hanging wires outside that are just unsightly and hopefully not unsafe!
Advice to the owners
There are so many creative ways to deal with the packages issue and the building isn't trying hard enough because they don't care that we can't get our christmas boxes or work deliveries. The laundry room is big, why wouldn't you make it into a secured lock box situation? Or get some more signs to make delivery drivers drop packages off in a certain part of the building or at least further in? I would also get pest control in the apartments because the roaches can be big.
