Huge bug issue and package theft!
Former Tenant
Pros:
The neighbors are kind, and mostly friendly or keep to themselves. They are decent apartments for the price and very close to a subway and some nice restaurants.
Cons:
There is a massive pest problem that cannot be helped; there is often garbage outside the building; the lobby is often dirty; there is a huge issue with packages being stolen.
Advice to owner:
Focus on getting rid of the beetles and install cameras to prevent package theft!

Stay Away for your own sake
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good sized apartment, that’s about it
Cons:
First moved in to a mouse problem
Then a black mold problem. Was told by the landlord that we didn’t have mold and had to nag them to do something.
Moved out 4 months ago and haven’t received security deposit.
You will need to send about 7 emails for them to do ANYTHING. Had to call 311 before they’d do anything about the Mold problem.

Ok place for students & working class people
Former Tenant
Pros:
Affordable 2BR for working class folks and students. Close to Columbia Morningside and short commute to Columbia Medical campus. Right next to St Nicholas Park, great place for a walk. Landlord is mostly responsive for maintenance.
Cons:
Supers seem to be nearby, not on-site. The hallways are not clean. The garbage maintenance can be better as well. Occasional loud parties from neighbors.
Advice to owner:
Clean the property more frequently
