Good long term housing
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very responsive management
Cons:
Institutionally owned by Columbia University -- most units are relatively dated, even with periodic remodeling, and designed mostly for short term renters (on the scale of a few years)

2 years and miss it
Former Tenant
Pros:
Clean apartment, and friendly building staff. Very safe and clean building in general. Maintenance were generally fast and reliable (same day).
Cons:
My unit had low light, so I couldn’t keep plants. Tap water in the building tastes “earthy/biological” and sometimes it was worse. Shower floor was tiled in a way that water didn’t drain properly resulting in mould that would form not long after only a couple showers.
Advice to owner:
Renovate the bathrooms so that tile floor showers drained properly. Test the tap water, and ensure it is safe for drinking in every apartment.

Quite good, especially compared to other places i think
Former Tenant
Pros:
All the people who work in the building are so sweet and caring. They really go out of their way to be helpful. It feels pretty clean overall. Maintenance issues seem to get addressed relatively quickly.
Cons:
My bedroom faces Amsterdam and there’s been construction on the street for months, possibly more than a year, so it’s loud and sometimes (but only very rarely) at night. I’ve seen three cockroaches in my apartment in the two years I’ve lived here, and there’s a giant cockroach in the basement. But I think that’s pretty tame in comparison to other places.
Advice to owner:
Be kind to (and compensate appropriately/generously) the people who work in the building. They do really great work and go above and beyond to take care of our needs. I appreciate them so much!
