It’s okay not great
Former Tenant
Pros:
Elevator, pretty secure, big apartments, Ok landlord, pest control.
Cons:
No package room/mail room, packages go missing, lots of noise after 6pm (nightlife) and 7am (construction), didn’t give enough working keys so we had to make copies of the few that worked that were scattered between each of our sets. Some nosy neighbors. Water pressure is weak. Broken windows don’t lock. A few cockroaches even though I keep my place very clean because of potentially other tenants. Had a mouse the last week we were in the apartment which was awful. The management company has an attitude but I think they switched, the new owner is nice. The super and his kid are polite.
Rain would make water come in through the old windows. It was very inconvenient and ruined the paint.
Advice to owner:
Seal or change windows, manage trash better, offer better pest control

Putting lipstick on a pig
Former Tenant
Pros:
- The apartment looked great cosmetically. - - The location is great, as there are a lot of train lines nearby. - The property management is responsive, although I would not trust them with major issues. - Building is rent controlled
Cons:
- The neighbors are rude and noisy. We had children jumping above us 24/7. We tried talking to the neighbor which in short ended up with the police having to come by as she was threatening us. - The renovation looked nice but then part of the ceiling started to fall off and show mold. Property management wanted to just paint it over rather than remove the drywall and replace. I ended up moving but for sure they just painted it over for the next person. - Whenever it rains, rain would fall inside the apartment through the window (with the window closed). I was told that it was because they needed to repoint some brick. I lived there 2+ years and it was never fixed. - Although I never saw rats inside the apartment, I did have issues with roaches. Our apartment was professionally cleaned monthly and we did the upkeep in between. Thus, I am sure the roaches came from other units. The management’s version of pest control was to spray a product found on home depot that did not work. I had to find my own products - You can hear all the street noise inside as it is on a busy avenue and windows are old. - Apartment was too hot or too cold. Never in between.
Advice to owner:
Have long term fixes instead of cosmetic renovations if wanting to attract high income tenants.
