Pros:
Soundproof walls, and excellent location. Mostly. People are always loud in the park between St. Nick Ave and St. Nick Blvd, good luck getting sleep in during the summers. Car crashes are pretty consistent outside this building, people let their dogs piss all over the sidewalk so no matter which way you are coming from, you will be met with the stench of eye-burning sulfur. Pretty much, this is the worst building in Manhattan to live in. Oh shit, this was the pros section…. Not easy to jot down any pros about this place. Clearly.
Cons:
Garbage chute never works, flies are somehow always getting in my apartment even with all the windows closed, and it says that there is laundry in the building but they either don’t work or they break mid-wash. Also, the hot water? Could be gone for up to a week at a time and happens multiple times throughout the year. Don’t bother calling the super though, you’ll get a text saying “the plomers are coming,” but they aren’t. You have a better chance of seeing Jesus than actually convincing the super to do his job. Just call 311 if you actually want anything done about anything. Leaks in your apartment? Super won’t do a thing, except until the ceiling caves in which case then he will tell you “plomers are coming,” he will come clean up the big pieces of the ceiling, leave you to clean up the rest, and subsequently never call the plomers, er, um, plumbers*.
Advice to owner:
Sell this plot of land and building to someone who will evict everyone, knock it down, and turn it into a Chuck E Cheese.
