Management will try and scam you out of security deposit
Former Tenant
Pros:
Management is responsive and quick to make repairs while you are a tenant
Neighbors are great and respectful
Quiet area
Cons:
Owner will attempt to increase the rent frequently and sometimes be amounts that exceed 5% no room for negotiation
All communication from management ceased when I requested back my security deposit. After over a month of no response despite multiple outreaches I begin to fear (probably correctly) that it was the owners intention was to scam me out of it. It took a letter from my lawyer to get my first response in a month and a half of silence and even then the owner informed me was keeping a “cleaning fee” of $250 even though the apartment was left in broom swept condition.
The super pressured me into returning apartment early as a favor to him so he could begin painting early (I unfortunately complied)
Was not given a walk through even when I requested a walk through
Requested I be informed to what level they would like the apartment cleaned before I moved out and was ignored
Itemized receipts for the owners “cleaning fee” not included with the deduction.
Advice to owner:
Learn to treat people better and ingoring your clients is not a good way to do business
