Negligent Management Company
Former Tenant
Pros:
The only pro is the location
Cons:
The management company doesn’t care about the tenants complaints. They do the bare minimum if anything at all. The superintendent who’s tasked with maintaining the building cleans and safe is 90 years old and cannot keep up. The building is filthy. Roaches, mice, unpainted and unclean common areas, the elevator is always broken, no gas throughout the building for over 2 years… it’s in terrible shape.
Advice to owner:
Put some effort in. Get a new superintendent that can manage the building. Don’t allow tenants to sublease and rent out rooms to multiple individuals. Get a new security system for front door. The basement is a cesspool - hire professionals for deep clean and pest control. New paint and elbow grease goes a long way. Work with ConEdison to turn gas back on before you get a serious legal problem on your hands.
