Rent increase during pandemic
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet apartment since I live towards the back of the building. There is minimal foot traffic in and out of the building.
Cons:
There was a rent increase of $100 during the height of the COVID 19 pandemic that seemed a bit insensitive and did not take into consideration where people were at because of the pandemic. Additionally the building tenants do not seem to reflect the rich diversity that is present in the neighborhood.
Advice to owner:
Offer rent comprable to other buildings in the area with fewer rent increases and diversify tenants living in the building.

Terrible Landlord, not interested in keeping tenants for long term
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location, close to the park
Cons:
Terrible landlord. Doesn't send paperwork on time. The lease is a form template from the internet. To get anything fixed in the apartment, you have to call 311.
Advice to owner:
Stop treating your building like a dorm for Columbia.
