Small but nice
Pros
The on-site building management team is wonderful- super responsive, very kind and on top of things like garbage and monthly exterminations. They are the reason I’ve stayed in my apartment for so long, unfortunately the price is just too much for size and location
Cons
The property team who owns these buildings are not the nicest, rent is consistently raised hundreds of dollars each renewal with no modifications or improvements on the apartment (rent went up $1800 over four years) plus the size of the apartment is not worth the price, the floors are scuffed by walking on them and walls are ruined immediately from oils from your fingers. Lastly, given the construction for the 1 train it’s basically a construction site and is providing a lot of hidden spots on the street that attracts heavy drug users and isn’t the safest anymore- not much the management team can do about that while the project wraps up
Advice to the owners
Idk maybe care more about humans over money
A solid first NYC apartment, but not forever home
Pros
The maintenance team is phenomenal, and the building is well maintained. Good amenities, including gym in separate building and laundry in the basement.
Cons
Some issues with package theft and smoke odor. Expect significant rent increases
