Landlord is a slumlord

Pros:
I love the neighbors in the building.
Cons:
The super is rude, fixes nothing, is anti Semitic, has assaulted other tenants. Landlord fixes nothing. We have roaches, waterbugs, mice, rats, and bedbugs on the 2nd floor and they’re spreading. Plumbing is falling apart. Leaks and mold in many apartments the LL usually just paints over.

Heat and hot water rarely work properly during the winter. Multiple space heaters are a necessity living here.
Advice to owner:
Hire an actual super, provide your tenants with basic legally required living conditions. Stop illegally raising our rent.

Bed Bug Nightmare

Pros:
Nice super, mostly nice neighbors, great area
Cons:
Poisoned my dog with chemical treatment of bedbug ( never resolved eventually moved out 600$ out of my own pocket later )
Never received security deposit back or required report on what charges were deducted
No fridge or stove for first 3 weeks living there despite continued assurances

Advice to owner:
Treat your tenants better !

BARBERRY ROSE MANAGEMENT IS HORRIBLE DO NOT LIVE WITH THEM

Pros:
Good location, strong tenant organizing to oppose the horrible landlord, backyard cat family
Cons:
BRM is the worst property management company I’ve ever worked with. We had to break our lease because they neglected to respond to a bed bug infestation in an appropriate way. They also did not supply us with a fridge or a stove until after 3 weeks of living with the apartment. Multiple minor code violations in the apartment itself. The company is near to impossible to get in touch with. They also stole our security deposit and refused to give it back under false allegations that we owed them rent.
Advice to owner:
Cease to exist
