Great Building in Little DR
Former Tenant
Pros:
Amazing superintendent and responsive management company, with large apartments and a lovely lobby. 5 minutes from High Bridge Park.
Cons:
Neighborhood is insanely noisy. Cars driving by at 4 in the morning, blaring music so loud my bed shook, were a regular enough occurrence that I had to get out of there or never sleep through the night again. Also, some 1-bedroom units (mine included) had extremely tiny kitchens and disproportionately enormous living rooms.
Advice to owner:
Maybe noise insulating windows for street-facing units? Other than that, this is a terrific building.

Avoid at all costs
Former Tenant
Pros:
Proximity to train
Cons:
Urban American Management is absolutely terrible. It has been a year of headaches with absolutely no response from them. I did not have HEAT OR GAS for the first TEN MONTHS of my lease and had no rent relief because of it. I have had over $2000 worth of packages stolen and management does absolutely nothing. It is the tenants. My packages get stolen from my door within minutes of getting delivered. They turn the water off and on and give no heads up. It has been an absolute nightmare living here. Stay far away from this management company, they take advantage of everyone they oversee and you will truly never get a response.
Advice to owner:
Be better.

Good experience so far
Former Tenant
Pros:
The common areas look nice and are nice tidy and the apartment i live is has been renovated with new kitchen equipment, newly painted walls and a nice bathroom.
Cons:
The super is kind of hard to get a hold of and he seems to be very busy or something. For instance I’ve been trying to get him to paint a wall that should have been painted 3 weeks ago and he still hasn’t done it.

Nightmare to live here
Former Tenant
Pros:
The A train on the corner and a good bodega
Cons:
Roaches everywhere, haven't had gas in half a year, cracks in the bathroom bring out more pests, loud neighbors, very rude maintenance staff, very rude management staff, they do not fix things properly here just patch jobs without expertise. The super literally has not responded to my texts since June. It is now October. Stay away from this building!!! $1750 for a dirty studio with no gas. comical.
Update: they won't release me from my lease and are accusing me of lying about a gas leak I was exposed to. Worst management I have ever encountered. Stay away!
Advice to owner:
Exterminate the building and clean the elevator. It stinks.
I have no words for this kind of behavior. You know it's wrong.

515 w 168th st
Former Tenant
Pros:
Amazing Super, there 24/7 and will always be happy to help. Elevator building is a plus.
Cons:
Always roaches in unit, in hall and elevator. Drugs and dealers out front all the time.
Advice to owner:
Bug bomb units before renting and hire security or keep a closer eye on people dealing and passing out needles out front.
