Bad experience in this building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to trains and supermarkets
Cons:
The maintenance of the building is bad. They don’t clean common areas for tenants in months such as hallways, lobby, laundry. The intercoms don’t work. I have to go downstairs to pick up my deliveries, being scared that something can happen. Recently they changed the locks of one of the door and nobody has access to through that door. Currently the main door is hard to open. There are always a lot of homeless sitting down in the lobby, sleeping in the hallways, also going inside the building stealing packages, and leaving garbage that never gets pick up. The manager of the building don’t care about the current situation. I’ve never met the manager of the building not even once. That means she/he never shows up to keep an eye about what’s going on in here. The last thing are the roaches going back and forth in the hallways going under different doors, never seen an exterminator. All they do is to increase rent, and never keep an appropriate environment for all the tenants. There are a lot of things they need to improve. Especially since the rent is not for free.
Advice to owner:
Hiring people who wants to work, not lazy people. Start keeping a clean and safe environment and stop high rent

Bugs Theft Bugs
Former Tenant
Pros:
Spacious 1 bedroom apartment. Lots of closet space.
The maintenance staff- the actual workers (a least a couple of them), were very responsive/helpful and felt bad for the tenants of this building.
Cons:
Bugs- constant bug problem. Even with extermination, I spent the entire of my lease living with roaches not matter how clean I was.
They were everywhere, especially in the kitchen/bathroom areas.
Who wants to cook with the fear of roaches coming out.
Who wants to have friends over with fear of roaches coming out.
Old building with limited touch ups.
The community noise- folks blasting music right outside the building.
Theft! Packages going missing.
Never took a bath as there was dirty water coming out of my bathtub for the majority of my lease; never resolved as "it is what it is- it's just the pipes"
Happened anytime you turned the water on too high, brown deposit would follow.
The PM was useless. Absolutely useless.
Advice to owner:
There are significant foundational issues in this building. Weekly extermination is required, an advancement from monthly.
The "Take Apartment As Is" needs to be stopped. As a management company, you need to come in and do a full cleaning and update from tenant to tenant. A new and more competent PM is needed.

Little to no heat during winter

- very nice repair/maintance workers
- quick application process
- quiet building/friendly neighbors
Cons:
- little to no heat during the winter despite complaints
Advice to owner:
provide more heat to tenants

Good email response, terrible mgmt otherwise
Former Tenant
Pros:
They were very responsive to emails regarding any issues in the apartment
Cons:
There was little to no heat during the winter months and the super said there was nothing they could do, my apartment got bed bugs 3 months after I moved in, there was dirty water coming out of my bathtub for the majority of my lease and despite multiple plumbing jobs, it was never resolve and I eventually moved out, they tried to keep my security deposit claiming damages to the apartment (which didn’t exist) and only returned it after I threatened legal action.
Advice to owner:
Stop trying to steal people’s money with false excuses and fix basic problems like non-potable brown water coming out of the bathtub.

Conveniently located apt
Former Tenant
Pros:
Relatively quiet neighbors as they are mostly older residents or working near the hospital.
Good for single occupants.
Super close to the trains and conveniences.
Cons:
Live in super does nothing to fix and does not respond to emails. Property manager also takes forever to respond.
Lately there has been a lot of firework activity and it can be overwhelming. Starts in May and goes through the fall. In the summer lots of music will be playing if you’re sensitive to noise.
Advice to owner:
Please respond to your tenants concerns before your tenant has to cc everyone at the company or bring in legal action.
