A Literal PTSD-Inducing Nightmare
Former Tenant
Pros:
The proximity to Fort Tryon Park and the ability to see trees while still in Manhattan are the things I will miss. The apartment itself was a decent size with a big kitchen - that’s what hooked us initially.
Cons:
Roaches galore! I killed hundreds in the time I lived here. I would turn on the light and see them on every surface at night. Mgmt did call the exterminator multiple times on our behalf, but they never had any effective solutions and refused to treat the entire building. In general, mgmt was impossible to communicate with and treated tenants with blatant disdain. Their entire office once took an entire week off at the same time the super was on vacation and didn’t tell the tenants in advance or provide any sort of alternative emergency contact - which led to tenants having to call the fire department in an actual emergency. The area itself is extremely loud between drag racing, blaring music, and fireworks at all hours year-round. This is just the tip of the iceberg with this place. Spare yourself. Do not live here.
Advice to owner:
Enforce pest control in your entire building, especially when you know it’s a problem. Provide multiple current contact options for tenants and actually answer your phones and emails when there’s a problem. Do your jobs.
