Worst Apt in NYC
Former Tenant
Pros:
The neighbors were the best part of this building and the guy who’s job was to empty the trash. NOT the super.
Cons:
Management. They sold me on the idea that the apartment was very quiet but in reality you could hear everything your neighbors were doing. It didn’t bother me much but I didn’t appreciate being lied to. Also, as soon as I moved in, I noticed the apartment was not properly cleaned. The walls had some stains and I found rust developing in the tub. On top of that, the tub was completely dirty from the previous tenant. I kindly brought it up to the super and was told that I should’ve said something before I signed the lease. When I went to management, they brushed it off as if it was ok to have rust.
Advice to owner:
It would expect low management standards if my rent was inexpensive but it wasn’t. You justified my price because my kitchen got a new stove but it was missing a major piece. Also, don’t be cheap when your tenant asks to fix something.
