Parkoff sucks, building falling apart
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good spot In building laundry Spacious
Cons:
Super is WAY old and can’t do jack Huge flooding damage. Had hole in my ceiling for months. Building is falling apart. Many other tenants have the same experience. Rats Roaches Bait and switched, stalled, accepted then rejected day of move in and left homeless. Then eventually offered more expansive unit we’d never seen on move in day. Every nasty trick in the book. Landlord and company suck. Understaffed, don’t reply, etc. Borderline scammers. I have loud neighbors upstairs though quiet in either side Hot water after 11:30pm? lol you wish
Advice to owner:
Angel, god love him, needs to retire.

Not The Worst, But Not The Best Landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
Near transit; grocery stores and banks nearby; park is located down the block; not all neighbors are noisy.
Cons:
Could be cleaned a little better.
Advice to owner:
Please show urgency to your tenants requests (especially urgent ones).

Great Superintendent, Bad rat problem
Former Tenant
Pros:
Superintendent and his helpers were great, nice looking building, quiet inside the building, big apartments. They are always up keeping the sidewalks and building floors. The super and his guys do an amazing job on the building during Christmas time.
Cons:
Noise level on Thayer St. Rats, we lived on the first floor and rats would come up through the cracks of the radiator or the walls behind the stove where huge cracks were visible from gas pipes installation. Superintendent fixed the issue, but another crack was revealed, he fixed that one too. Decided to move out before finding a 3rd occurrence.
Advice to owner:
Fix your rat issues

don’t be tempted by this building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Outstanding neighbors. Building has, or had, good bones, being built in 1929. Lovely holiday decorations.
Cons:
Terrible landlord, unresponsive and treats you like a nuisance to them. Hard to get contact information to reach out to landlord. Good luck getting repairs done, or reporting code violations. Most broken things (radiators, windows, lights, outlets, etc.) stay broken. Super can’t or won’t do most work. Super’s failure to sweep spent fireworks from roof caused building to flood like a waterfall from top to bottom, indoors, down the stairways, and into almost all units on the left side of the building. Structural and mold and other damage issues were slow to be repaired afterward. Lots of refrigerators don’t work well. Can’t access basement indoors without elevator, and only during certain hours. Trash and laundry have to be managed on building time, not necessarily the time you’re home from work.
Advice to owner:
Turn this building over to someone who will actually care for it and its wonderful tenants, instead of keeping it as an asset for future real estate investment. Get a super who can fix issues and prevent them instead of causing more.
