Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews for 395 Fort Washington Avenue praise its convenient location near the A subway line, spacious and sometimes renovated apartments, and friendly neighbors contributing to a neighborly atmosphere. The building features useful amenities like laundry, elevators, and regular pest control. The superintendent generally receives high marks for responsiveness and problem-solving, though some tenants report inconsistent maintenance, delays in repairs, and occasional issues with water pressure and heating controls. Noise from hallways, package thefts, and management inefficiencies—such as poor communication and slow work completion—have been noted. Overall, it’s seen as a well-situated, comfortable building with room for improved management and maintenance consistency.

Wonderful building, Great Neighbors

Pros

The building has a great layout and the entry is wonderful. Having an elevator and laundry in the building is a plus. The proximity to the A Line subway can’t be beat! Super is responsive and proactive in helping to take care of issues quickly. Apartments are being renovated as they turn over. Recent updates include new motion detection lighting in the hallways. Regular exterminator appointments on a monthly basis keep the building free of pests. Building has an energy efficiency rating of 90.

Cons

There was an issue of packages being stolen from the lobby. After the Super was able to catch the person(s) on video, they filed a police report and took measures to secure the doors to the building.

Advice to the owners

Olshan Properties - There is an opportunity to make this a jewel of a building in the neighborhood. The location is ideal. Do not ignore it.

Never want to leave

Pros

Love. Super responsive super! Creative solutions when something can’t be fixed quick.

Cons

Hallway noise. The slamming of the fire doors is constant. And you can hear as people walk up and down the hallways.
