Mgmt always combative
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location
3 washers 2 dryers when rented(no longer)
Size of apartments.
Cons:
Bldg manager often very difficult or unresponsive to problems.
Super part time & little English (45 Units).
Common areas not well maintained
Basement often filled with trash & safety/fire hazards (including in boiler room and other rooms in basement).
Outside areas poorly maintained - with safety/fire hazards, trash/old appliances, furniture/ hanging wires blocking or interfering w/emergency exits.
Questionable renovations and
building code violations for medical offices on first floor. See basement & outside of laundry area for examples.
Questionable use of 2nd floor TENANT space by medical office.
Laundry area now questionable (formerly 3 washers/2 dryers - reduced to 2 washers 1 dryer with little or no clear info provided to tenants - NUMBER OF MACHINES was a big "selling point" when building was shown to prospective tenants).
Building in past 2 years has had several incidents of open drug use, theft, threats to tenants by friends/family of super.
Advice to owner:
Step up and do your job to maintain safety cleanliness repairs and facilities (LAUNDRY needs to be addressed and expanded to once again serve the needs of more than 40 units).
Super should be FULL TIME and should be able respond clearly to calls/messages in both English & Spanish.

First floor offices and all utilities used need to be inspected and brought up to code.
