Lovely building, awful management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very charming building, location and neighborhood is great. Never had any pest problems.
Cons:
Landlord and super were very unresponsive, even when I was reporting major problems. It seems like they have a "bandaid fix" approach to maintaining the building. Leaks were a constant problem in multiple apartments, they were not fixed right away, and based on my experience with the landlord and super, I doubt they were ever properly fixed at all, probably just redid the drywall to hide the water damage so they could get in a new tenant.
Advice to owner:
Have more respect for your tenants and your properties.

Well-maintained building in quiet neoghborhood
Former Tenant
Pros:
Large floor plans, unique architectural details - community of residents who have been in the building for many years
Cons:
Walls / ceiling / floor are thin so you can often hear neighbors (and dogs barking) - floors are very creaky - super is unresponsive (but porter is great)
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive to tenant inquiries and/or hire a better super who can field tenant inquiries on your behalf

It’s not bad
Former Tenant
Pros:
Other than the listed cons the apt is great. Able to hear beautiful piano music most evenings.
Cons:
Did not have gas (useable kitchen) in entire building for 6 months, including over thanksgiving- management did not try to expedite repairs to improve problem. Super does not seem to want to do his job. Avoids fixing issues.
Advice to owner:
Work harder to improve resident concerns.
