Decent Living in Good Neighborhood
Former Tenant
Pros:
Decent, large rooms. Safe neighborhood close to A & 1 trains. Super is onsite and responsive. Friendly neighbors. Low noise. Walking distance to Ft. Tryon Park. Owners are refurbishing/upgrading building slowly but surely.
Cons:
Water pressure is week and temp varies when showering. Laundry has only 3 machines and 4 half dryers for 2 buildings (A & B). No fire sprinklers except in basement. Noise from ongoing repairs are disturbing especially if you’re working. Entrance out back gate now locked. No ADA accessible entrance (ramp at front step removed several years ago and back gate can’t be re-entered with key - exit only.
Advice to owner:
Upgrade the laundry area from “afterthought” to a pleasant and reasonably adequate shared space - enough for 2 buildings to share. Provide keys to back gate to tenants. Provide accessibility for wheelchairs and walkers, etc.
