Reality of living in Inwood
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartments themselves are massive. It’s a great feeling to have all the space you need.
Cons:
If you care a out sleeping this is not the building. Alongside cars doing donuts at the intersection and dirt bikes, The people renting below every Friday throughout the weekend play music until 3-4 AM. They place 2-3 speakers and blast music all night with children awake with them. 311 is useless, they lower it then raise once the police leave. The super does nothing about any regulations. Sleep is a blessing during the cold season when the overnight sidewalk parties aren’t up as much. The front door has a wooden blank leaving it wide open for anyone at all times. Super or management does nothing about it People block the staircase with lawn chairs and in groups of 6 or more blocking residents in getting in. People leave behind their pets droppings. Management replies to in unit concerns weeks later after bringing up. Roach and mice infestations throughout the summer and spring.
Advice to owner:
There aren’t any enforced rules. Most tenants sign for a year and leave once they realize how awful the building is. This building has the opportunity of becoming a great area to live due to its size and convenience. There could be a massive turn around if rules were enforced and the building was taken care off.

Large apt, large issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
I loved the size of the apartment, and the distance to trains. We had great light in the building and great closet space.
Cons:
The neighbors were very loud and the only way to have anything done about it was to bang on their doors at night. Outside was even worse, with double parked cars blasting music all might long. While we had a great view of all of the street activity and police captures that Happened on the block (frequent), it was something that made us feel unsafe overall.
Advice to owner:
Faster super response time, switch to an online payment system if you keep losing checks!
