Once a very good building
Former Tenant
Pros:
My unit is very big (and not just by NYC standards), the bathroom and kitchen were completely renovated and upgraded before I moved in.
Super is very nice and responsive.
Neighborhood is great - quiet residential area with an incredible park just steps away.
Cons:
I can hear EVERYTHING from my immediate neighbors. And NOT because I have very loud neighbors, but because of poor noise insulation and/or the way the building was constructed. I'm hearing just everyday activity very clearly through the walls & ceilings. I'm not exaggerating when I say I can hear their sneezes and their every step. I can also clearly hear the elevator motor and whenever the elevator door opens and shuts. A couple of years ago, the live-in super retired and it took months before they hired a new super (but one who is only at the building during regular business hours, and doesn't live in the building). During the time when the building was without a super, things deteriorated a bit. The new super is very nice and responsive but I feel like the building never fully recovered to the state it was in when we had a live-in super.
