Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant reviews of 31 Tiemann Place highlight a building with charming design features, laundry facilities, and a friendly superintendent. However, ongoing construction noise and cold apartments have been recurring issues, affecting residents' comfort. Mixed responses exist regarding management's responsiveness to maintenance requests, with some praising the community spirit while others express frustration with delayed repairs. Despite these challenges, the majority approve of the owner and recommend the building for its overall conveniences and tight-knit community, making it a suitable choice for those who value a social atmosphere and unique building aesthetics.

Great Building, Wish The Noise Would Stop

Pros

Its very bright and has a lot of charming design features. I like that there is laundry, a quick and reliable elevator, and the super is very friendly and always doing work around the building to make it nice.

Cons

There was construction the whole time I lived here, and it still continues. If you are on the front side of the building you're fine, but the back side has been very loud. Also, the super often leaves us on read with issues regarding our apartment.

Great for students

Pros

Haven't had any issues with any amenities - laundry room in basement works, functional kitchen and relatively responsive management

Cons

The apartment is ALWAYS cold (multiple tenants complain every year and nothing has been done), construction next door is terrible (occurs almost 6 days a week starting at 8am) to the point where cracks are forming in the building. Management tries to work with engineers from construction site to mitigate but to no avail
