Good starter apartment but loud
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, right in the middle of east village/LES Lots of trains Grocery store downstairs (union market) Trash was regularly taken out Building management was pretty responsive
Cons:
Lots of noise (bar with outdoor seating behind the building, front of the building is on Houston) Trash was in the walkway (you have to pass by every time you enter/leave the building)

Well taken care of
Former Tenant
Pros:
By and large the neighbors are friendly and quiet. The club under the building closed! Water pressure is great and the building is kept clean.
Cons:
Packages occasionally stolen A new bar may go in where the club previously was

Management does not care about you in this building

great for a studio
Former Tenant
Pros:
great location, nice neighbors, pretty nice appliances
Cons:
bad water pressure in the shower (like none at all basically lol), club next door is super loud on the weekends / during events, random little things that were promised to be fixed before move in weren’t (like our cabinets are missing knobs and have been since we moved in), had a gnat problem over the summer that appeared out of nowhere and would not go away
Advice to owner:
a couple of updates would go a long way!!

A good starter apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Management is responsive
Monthly pest control
Cons:
The apartment sits above a club (Writing on the Wall) so it gets loud Thurs-Sat
Garbage is kept in the lobby downstairs, which can be unpleasant (smell + flies), but is regularly taken out

Okay Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Apartments are clean. Have never seen a bug/mouse. Very central area. Lots of restaurants and everything you could ever need is close.
Cons:
Party building. Neighbors can be loud especially on the top floor. Garbage is kept in the hallways which can get smelly at times. Hot water and water in general is turned off with no advance notice.
Advice to owner:
Clean the building and figure out the garbage situation. Communicate with tenants about water/heat interruptions in advance.
