Lived here for a year
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is very convenient, the superintendent is amazing
Cons:
Management is terrible, they lie about fees and are unresponsive. They tried to threaten me with something that I knew was illegal, but when you're stressed about moving, it can be difficult to call someone's bluff - I had an issue with my bank and tried to fix it immediately and they told me if I didn't sort it out before the end of the business day, they were going to throw my lease away, despite me having already signed it and putting down a deposit. They also threatened to charge me for having to reschedule an apartment viewing when I had COVID. Would not recommend.
Advice to owner:
Fire whoever is managing the property at Landmark, he is extremely rude and aggressive and is going to get you all sued.

Did the job
Former Tenant
Pros:
My unit was renovated, so it was nice to have an updated bathroom. Another plus is that the live-in super is very responsive and helpful.
Cons:
It definitely got noisy in the back because of the terraces in the units below. Very little natural light. Main issue was that I was concerned with asbestos the last year I lived there since a fire in an adjoining building (same prop co.) forced all tenants to evacuate and the building remained empty due to asbestos. Seems odd that our adjoined building was magically asbestos free.
Advice to owner:
Do a full check for toxic materials in the building please!

great building
Former Tenant
Pros:
I’ve lived here for 2 years & granted, it’s an old building so it has its flaws. However, management has always been quick to respond & our super is quick to arrive to fix it. Even through the pandemic, we were able to get small & large requests completed. We don’t experience bugs in the building or unit and the heat is consistent throughout winter months.
It isn’t a rent stabilized building but they weren’t going to increase rent on the next lease if we signed, I’m assuming due to the pandemic.
Cons:
Older buildings have their issues so definitely keep that in mind. My main complaint would be our neighbors who consistently smoke inside their unit so the 4th floor always smells like cigarettes.
Advice to owner:
Take action with tenants violating lease clauses faster. Otherwise, it was an overall pleasant experience living here.
