3 years in Stuytown
Former Tenant
Pros:
The community and the landscaping are the absolute best. It feels like a gated community inside the city. Great for small “new” families. Lots of activities for parents & kids.
Cons:
The rent is so expensive and all the old people don’t pay what the younger generations are paying due to rent controlled apartment. No incentives to continue living there. They just keep raising rent even if you’re there for 2 or 10 years. Lots of the buildings are old and need constant repair
Advice to owner:
Make rent prices more affordable for the younger generation

Best spots in Manhattan
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very responsive management
Cons:
1. Lack of sunlight in the common space in junior 2 beds apartments. The flex room blocks all the sunlight
2. Lack of ventilation for the restrooms

college campus feel in manhattan!
Former Tenant
Pros:
i absolutely love stuytown, it’s so clean and quiet. management is very fast to respond, it’s all done through their website. it’s so safe and really makes me feel at home in such a chaotic city.
Cons:
some units are more updated than others, and pricing is fairly expensive but we’ll worth it with how much space you get.

Solid apartment for 4 years
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Clean, well maintained, a few things broke in 4 years and were fixed relatively quickly
- nice park-like feel, green views, mix of tenants
- reasonable rents, lots of space for the spend
- concierge services made life a bit easier; not the same as a doorman, but nice to have a place to drop keys off, order cleaning services and pet sitting etc.
- quiet hours seemed well enforced
Cons:
- walls were thin - didn’t affect me with immediate neighbors, but upstairs neighbors - i could hear some of their conversations, and even though I think they weren’t being loud, it felt like they were just in the room next to mine
Advice to owner:
- invest in some sound proofing/enforce the carpeting rule

Stuytown - safe, easy and convenient!
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building was clean, quiet and has everything you need for day-to-day convenience.
Cons:
It's a bit far from public transportation, but that's to be expected and the pros outweigh the cons for sure.
Advice to owner:
Nothing to advise.

Stuytown - Beautiful, big and DANGEROUS!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Gigantic layouts, lots of closets, family centric tenants( for the most part). Only other pro was them letting us break our lease early as they would not provide any more security or compensation for feeling like we were in jail as we couldn't step outside without feeling we would be attacked from a known assailant that continued to harass and steal from us. Even after we caught him and had him arrested 4x.
Cons:
They don't care about your safety, continued theft, negligence from management. Living amongst rent controlled tenants that seem to be borderline homeless/drug addicts. Cant fit regular size trash in compactor. cant fit Large couches in elevator ( needed couch doctor to cut ours in half to fit in). elevator is constantly disgusting with smell and visible snot and saliva. some tenants smoke in their units ( even though its not allowed). Packages get stolen constantly, bikes get stolen. Unresponsive security teams.
Advice to owner:
take care of your tenants.
