All the good parts of stuytown but MAN is it loud
Former Tenant
Pros:
Laundry in building, elevator, most neighbors have lived there for a decade+, access to green space in stuytown, right by the L/TJ’s/Target/East Village
Cons:
It is soooo loud if your unit faces 1st avenue (I was in an A unit). Even on the higher levels, 9-10 stories up. Constant sirens from the nearby fire station and hospital. And I believe 1st Avenue is an ambulance route for NYU. I wore earplugs all the time. Would have to go on mute on Zoom calls during work when I heard sirens because they’d drown out the call. Living in a constant state of alarm is stressful for your body and bad for your health. Also we got lucky with our neighbors but the walls are very thin so pray you have quiet upstairs neighbors.

I love StuyTown
Former Tenant
Pros:
One of the building's exits leads to the city, the other leads to a park, so you get the best of both worlds!
Cons:
It's an expensive apartment without COVID deals.

Nice safe place, park like setting
Former Tenant
Pros:
Large space for Manhattan apt. Convenient to stores, subway, buses. Quick access to park like space - trees, grass, playgrounds. Very clean, well kept building and grounds. Safe area, private security as well. Buzzer system to admit visitors includes screen.
Cons:
Thin walls - can get a bit noisy. Can sometimes use a bit more heat. No individual thermostat. Also, air conditioners fit in lower part of window, blocking some of the view.
Advice to owner:
Put ramps on all steps leading to street.

you cannot go outside your apartment without smelling the strong stench of cigars and weed and you will often get the smell inside your own apartment as well. nothing in the rental agreement stops your neighbors from doing so
Advice to owner:
